This is an announcement, not a launch. We simply want it known in advance that we are working on something.
A media and marketing team is being formed, and its first project is 0meridian.info — a news platform separate from the foundation’s charitable programmes. It replaces nothing we already do and does not change the organisation’s direction. It is a distinct project, with its own team.
What it will be
A multilingual news platform, built around a simple idea: most people have no time to read, but they do have time to listen. At the wheel, at the gym, in the kitchen.
What makes it unusual is how you can listen to the same story at three levels of depth, chosen by you:
- Flash — the ten most important stories, condensed into short segments, like a radio bulletin. Five to seven minutes for everything that matters.
- Summary — a single story, combined with related material into a five- to ten-minute audio report.
- ALL IN — an in-depth analysis of a quarter of an hour or more, which searches the archive for the full context: the background, the statements, the international coverage.
You move between levels while listening. If a story grabs you, you ask for “ALL IN” and get the documentary. If not, you move on.
Car mode
For driving there is a separate interface: large buttons, high contrast, designed to be used without looking at the screen. Voice commands for “next story”, “summary”, “ALL IN”. If you touch nothing, the player works through your personalised list on its own.
In practice it replaces the radio — but with the news you actually want.
Nine languages
Romanian is the primary language. Alongside it: Hungarian, English, German, Spanish, Polish, Slovak, Portuguese and Mandarin. Changing the language changes both the text and the voice.
How it looks
A dark interface, with rows of cards that scroll sideways — close to how streaming platforms look today. The feed rearranges itself according to your region and interests.
Every article keeps a link to the original source. Content is rephrased and structured, not copied, and sources are cited explicitly.
There will also be comments, directly under the articles — automatically moderated, with no redirect to social networks.
When
We are not announcing a launch date yet. The platform is in development, and the first phase involves human approval of every story the system processes — we want it to be accurate before it is fast.
We will share more as the project progresses. Until then, if you would like to be part of the media team or contribute to the project, write to us.
