Not every project a foundation runs looks like a foundation project. fParcurs is one of those: a software platform built and maintained by Robert Olah for Clean Water Foundation, which solves a mundane and irritating problem — filling in trip logs.
Robert Olah built the platform from scratch: the routing engine, the mobile app, and the document generation.
The problem
Any company with vehicles on its books knows the ritual. At the end of the month, somebody reconstructs from memory where each vehicle went, fills in a table by hand, and sends it to the accountant. The result contains mileage errors, arrives late, and may not hold up under inspection.
The stakes are not small. In the absence of properly completed trip logs, the deduction of vehicle expenses is automatically limited to 50% under the Romanian Fiscal Code. The difference becomes a non-deductible expense — money lost every month, on every vehicle.
With e-Invoicing and SAF-T reporting, the tax authorities have far better visibility over fuel expenses. Documenting every kilometre has gone from a formality to a requirement.
What the platform does
The mobile app records the start, the stop and the kilometres driven, and the platform turns them into a document. Nothing is filled in by hand.
- Compliant documents. The mandatory fields are generated in line with Government Decision 1391/2006, and exports meet the requirements of Order 2634/2015 for accounting documents.
- Real distances, not estimates. Kilometres come from the actual journey — only the start, the stop and the distance are kept, not the route; for manual planning there is a purpose-built routing engine.
- Works without signal. Data is saved locally on the phone and syncs by itself once signal returns — no kilometre is lost in remote areas.
- Automatic start (optional). Recording can start and stop by itself when the phone connects to the car’s Bluetooth.
- Personal and business separated. The platform distinguishes the two types of journey automatically, which is what counts during an inspection.
- It reaches the accountant on its own. Reports are sent automatically to the accountant’s portal. No emails, no “share” buttons.
- Instant PDF export. Per vehicle or consolidated, ready to send.
- AI integration. The platform can connect to ChatGPT, Gemini or Claude via MCP or OpenAPI, to query fleet data in natural language.
Accounting firms get a separate dashboard, with instant switching between clients and bulk processing of monthly logs.
Why it is built for a foundation
This is the part that belongs to our mission. The platform is built by Robert Olah for the foundation, and a company with a single vehicle uses it free, permanently. It is not a trial period.
A small company runs on exactly the same infrastructure as any other: the same servers, the same trip logs, the same legal compliance.
Where to find it
fParcurs is in closed beta. Details are at fparcurs.ro; for access or feedback, write to suport@fparcurs.ro — the site also has a dedicated feedback section.
If you run a larger fleet, or you are an accounting firm and would like to test it, write to us — we want real feedback, from people who actually fill in trip logs.
